It is supposed to be a rest-day, but, perhaps can be better described as a Manic Day as this is a chance to stop, clean up, get the laundry done, and fettle the car for yet more punishment ahead. We are well spread out alongside another river, and our Mongolian support-team in big red Mercedes Unimogs have trucked in food, water, and all the kit to set up “facilities” – we arrived with hot showers from large drums of boiling water on the go, toilet-blocks dug and green canvass tents set up for our dining room. Long trestle tables with wooden benches are lined up for lunch – rumour has it that we are dining out on pasta today.
